What NYC Recessionista Wears: Snow day

The past two days, the weather has been pretty darn crappy in NYC. It’s cold, damp, rainy, windy and snowy.  It’s straight up miserable at times — the kind of weather that makes you want to stay home, put on sweatpants and watch When Harry Met Sally on your couch under some blankets.

Or, if you’re like me — you have to work. So, here’s what I’ve devised is a pretty comfy yet stylish outfit for snow days.

Earrings c/o NY & Company (similar) / J. Crew Factory sweater (similar) /  watch c/o Caravelle by Bulova (similar) / J. Crew Factory skirt (similar) / leggings from Century 21 (similar) / Urban Outfitters socks (similar) / Hunter wellies
Both of these layers — the sweater and the mini skirt — are not bulky, but they’re toasty warm. And now that I have Hunter wellies, I have no idea how I ever survived without them before. They’re well worth the investment!

With my long winter coat on over this, I can manage to stay pretty dry and warm. What do you wear on snow days?
