My Top 5 Winter Must Haves

Since the season is now officially underway, I wanted to share My Top 5 Winter Must Haves — a down and dirty roundup of items I absolutely cannot survive the season without!

TOP OF my winter must haves: a great Winter Coat

As someone who has to spend several hours outside each day regardless of the temperature or the elements, this insulated 3-in-1 waterproof parka from Lands’ End has been an absolute lifesaver. Everything from the location of the pockets to the wind and water-proof outer later have been really great for walking my Husky mix, who really loves the cold and snow.

A Cool-Mist Humidifier FOR WINTER DRYNESS

We first ended up getting a humidifier for our dog (which sounds insane haha, but our vet recommended it for him) and of course it’s been great for us, too, especially in the winter when the heat and dry air can wreak havoc on your sinuses. This cool mist humidifier by Levoit has been really great for us. I notice that I breathe better, my skin feels less dry, and I’m not getting as many sinus infections as I used to.

Fleece-lined Winter leggings

At the top of my list of current winter must haves are these fleece-lined leggings from Old Navy (they’re on sale right now and they even come in a 3-pack), but the Heat Tech leggings & other cold-weather essentials from Uniqlo are also legendary.

my Skincare Winter must haves

The Skinfix Eczema+ Dermatitis Relief Balm and Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve are my two favorite moisturizers, but having a good body oil is also crucial. Especially applying it while your skin is still damp, just out of the shower! The Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil is hands-down my favorite. A little goes a long way but if the price point is a little too steep for you, which I totally get, then this is a really great drugstore option, or you can also use pure coconut oil. In terms of a face wash that will remove all of my makeup but not aggravate my eczema, the oat makeup removing cleansing balm from The Inkey List has been a new favorite of mine.

COZY WINTER SOCKS

In my opinion, cozy socks are one of the best things to treat yourself to for the winter months. Something as simple as a super soft, warm pair of socks to wear around the house just instantly elevates my mood and helps fight off the winter blues. For an affordable version to stock up on, my go-to is the cozy sock from Old Navy. They’re so soft and perfect for wearing around the house. Uniqlo also makes HeatTech socks which are great for outdoor wear. L.L. Bean has lots of great wool options for the cold weather. The Gripper Slipper from Bombas is also great for staying cozy.
