Spring 2014 Trends: the Nineties

Hey y’all … your guide to the biggest fashion trends for spring continues tonight.  There are so many fun trends to try this season, and you don’t have to go broke doing it, either. For the next two weeks, I’m going to be breaking down all of the hottest trends for spring, and giving you tons of options for working them into your closet.

Tonight: one of my favorite decades: the Nineties.

What to look for: If you’re like me and grew up in the nineties, then some of these pieces may tug at your heartstrings a bit. And that’s what this trend is all about: having fun and being totally care-free. These pieces are absolutely perfect for the weekends … they’re casual, comfortable and don’t take themselves too seriously.

What to wear it with: For some of these pieces, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try to mix them in with more current pieces in your wardrobe. Take the Nirvana t-shirt for example. Why not try tucking it into a chic pencil skirt? The sleeveless denim vest would look amazing layered over a really feminine dress. And a floral baby doll dress might be a really standout piece to rock with a tailored blazer.

Here are 12 wallet-friendly 1990s style pieces to try this spring —
