Holiday Style Trends to Try in 2025

This year’s holiday fashion is all about elevated comfort — think soft fabrics, rich colors, and subtle shine. Here’s what’s trending:

  • Velvet Everything: Jewel-tone velvet dresses, blazers, and skirts bring instant luxury without expensive price tags.
  • Metallics & Soft Shine: Champagne, silver, pewter, and rose-gold shimmer that feels modern and wearable.
  • Cozy-Chic Knitwear: Oversized sweater dresses, textured knits, and ribbed sets that make comfort look effortless.
  • Plaid & Tartan: A classic holiday favorite — perfect as a skirt, scarf, or statement coat.
  • Monochrome Looks: All-white or deep-tone outfits that feel clean, intentional, and chic.
  • Statement Outerwear: A standout coat or faux-fur jacket turns even the simplest outfit into a moment.

The best part? These trends are easy to mix, match, and recreate using pieces you may already have.

Tips for NAILING Holiday STYLE on a Budget

You don’t need to invest in a whole new wardrobe — just get strategic. Here’s how:

1. Start with One Wow Piece — A velvet dress, a metallic skirt, or a sequined top can anchor a look. Build the rest with basics you already own.

2. Mix High + Low — Don’t be afraid to pair a luxe-looking piece with more everyday items: try pairing your favorite pair of jeans with a sparkly top, a velvet blazer over a simple t-shirt, or a glam sequined skirt with a cozy sweater.

3. Accessorize Like a Pro — Statement earrings (like this gorgeous pair), a shiny clutch (this one goes with everything), or even a bold red lip (this one is my favorite!) can transform even the simplest of outfits.

4. Rework Items You Already Have — Belt an oversized sweater to turn it into a dress. Add sheer or opaque tights to make summer skirts winter-ready. Layer a turtleneck under a slip dress for instant warmth + style.

5. Prioritize Comfort — Yes some of these outfits include heels haha … but be sure to keep comfort in mind. Depending on the occasion, you’ll feel more confident (and enjoy your night more!) when you’re wearing something comfortable and activity-appropriate.
