What NYC Recessionista Wears: Timex Weekender

I’ve always had a special connection to Timex watches … my grandfather, who passed away last September at the age of 95, had one of those old school Timex watches that he must’ve kept for decades. My mom is now wearing it.

One of the first watches that I treated myself to when I started working full-time was a Timex (a gold tone menswear-inspired style with a giant face).

And eight years ago when I first met my now husband, he joked that he was a really simple guy who wore a Timex and drove a Camry. Which only made me like him more.

I just love their simplicity and their quality.

I love that this particular watch was styled after military watches from the 1940s … kind of fitting for this Veteran’s Day.  I imagine my grandfathers may have worn something just like it during World War II.

This outfit is perfect for weekend errands … comfy but stylish.
