Today mark’s my grandparents’ 65th wedding anniversary …

My Nana and Beepa, or Ann and Romeo, were married on June 20, 1948 at Mary Help of Christian Church on 12th Street and Avenue A in New York City, which is still standing to this day.
They honeymooned in the upstate resort community of Lake George, N.Y. in a little bungalow right on the lake.
Their first apartment as a married couple was on the corner of Houston and Chrystie Streets on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Their rent was $40 a month.
