Product Review: Essie Sleek Stick Nail Appliqués

This past weekend, I bought and tested out Essie Sleek Nail Appliqués for the first time.  I purchased the croc ‘n’ chic pattern and the glam it on pattern. I decided to use the croc ‘n’ chic pattern first …

Here’s how it came out:

PROS:
  • Easy of use – These were pretty darn simple to put on … but I did rush, which I probably shouldn’t have done. I didn’t put them on perfectly straight flush up against the nail bed. Oopsie!
  • Time spent – This only took me about 10 minutes to do!  It’s super fast and great when you want to give yourself a mani but you don’t have a lot of time to sit around and wait for it to dry.
  • Product quality – The appliqués have a really nice, luxurious feel to them. And when they’re done, they look very glossy and shiny.

CONS:
  • Product quantity – One of my only beefs about the product is that there aren’t enough appliqués in the package for the money.  These cost me about $10, but I’m really only going to be able to get one manicure out of them.  So when you compare that to a bottle of Essie polish at about $8-10, which you can get plenty of manicures out of, then it’s way too expensive.
  • Appliques shape – I have pretty wide fingers, so the appliqués — and the shape of them where you set them flush against the nail bed — weren’t always a perfect fit for me.  But I know I have freakishly wide fingers 🙂

VERDICT:
Love them … they’re totally easy to use, and fast. And even though I wish they weren’t so pricey, they’re totally something I would splurge on for special occasions.  I hope they come out with new designs, patterns and colors.
