“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”
-Aldous Huxley

I have always been a huge fan of music. I think it’s one of the things I inherited from my father. More often than not, I have my headphones on or have music playing in my office. I have the lyrics t0 hundreds (if not thousands) of songs committed to memory. I have been to probably a hundred or so concerts, from sold out shows at Madison Square Garden to tiny cramped bars.

These are just five of the many, many songs I love.

“Two Step” by Dave Matthews Band … This is probably one of my favorite DMB songs. The message in it is just so positive and uplifting. And when you hear it live, you just can’t help but dance.

“Fix You” by Coldplay … Apparently Chris Martin wrote this song about his wife Gwyneth Paltrow. Can you imagine having a song like this written about you? I don’t think there are more beautiful song lyrics out there today.

“Please Forgive Me” by David Gray … From the beautiful lyrics to the beat to the singer’s haunting voice, this is probably one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

“If It Kills Me” by Jason Mraz … When I heard this song, I couldn’t believe how precisely it described my relationship with my now husband before he even became my boyfriend.

“Stop This Train” by John Mayer … John Mayer has the ability to describe exactly what I’m feeling as a I grow up. This song perfectly captures how I feel as I head from my twenties into my thirties.
