Brace yourself: culottes are back.

My Nana — who is 88 years young — refers to all shorts as “culottes.” Bless her heart. So you can imagine my shock when I came across what I thought was an adorable pleated skirt from Asos, only to find out that it was actually shorts. Or culottes.

They’re totally genius for summer — they give you the look and feel of a flowy skirt, but the comfort of shorts. I’m sorry, but I fully approve of the return of this trend, so long as they keep looking like this.
