They were married on June 20, 1948 at Mary Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church on East 12th Street and Avenue A in the East Village. This is a picture from (I think) before they got married ... they're on the far left and far right of the photo, seated across from each other and holding hands :)

PS - their first apartment as newlyweds was on the corner of Houston & Christie Streets in SoHo -- a cold water flat with a communal bathroom out in the hall -- where their rent was a whopping $40 a month.
