Dad

My dad is a jazz lover, a pop culture buff, a Mets fan, an admirer of old movies, with an encyclopedia-like memory, always reminiscent of the good old days, hardly ever raised his voice, and told me that no matter what I believed, it's important to have faith in something.

Not unlike my mom, my dad has always been very supportive and proud of my sister and me. I really lucked out in the parents department and I remind myself of that every day.

Orchard Pear

Truth be told, my favorite Bath & Body Works scent of all time is Orchard Pear. I am sure 99.9% of you don't even remember it, because it was a limited edition fall scent in 1999 that I never saw again.

It's literally more than a decade ago, and I still think about it. The scent was AMAZING, but clearly they did not think it was great enough to come back as a regular scent, and I've never understood why.

Anyway, I still hit the Bath & Body Works Big Yellow Sale twice each year (when they famously bring back discontinued items) in the hopes that I will somehow stumble across a bottle of lotion or a candle of the stuff.

So far, no such luck.

Today, NYC Recessionista turned 3. It's kind of hard for me to believe that I've been at this for 3 years already. Sometimes I feel like such a newbie to the blogging world, yet it comes so naturally to me that I feel like I've been blogging forever.
