What to wear when meeting Stacy London
Recently I was able to attend a gala for the Brooklyn chapter of the American Cancer Society. As someone who has been hit very close to home by cancer, I got a little teary-eyed while watching some of the video tributes during the dinner of all the amazing work that this organization does.

When I was planning my wedding last year, I came across Newlywish, which is a great new site that has a registry program like no other. I found a great new product that I wanted to share with y'all ... I stopped at Ricky's NYC last week to pick up some things, and asked one of the sales associates for a recommendation on a styling product for straightening my hair.
She recommended Blow Out Your Waves by Hair Rules ... and to be honest, I was a little hesitant to try it because it was under $10. Boy was I wrong. Inexpensive doesn't automatically mean it's going to leave something to be desired ...
The stuff is great! I blow dry my hair as usual and then finish it off with a straightening iron, and it really leaves my hair shiny and straight without weighing it down. I can highly recommend it.

Today -- a plain old t-shirt and some jeans. This is probably the most simple outfit I've ever seen my mom wear, but she looks so pretty.

This was probably taken during a backyard barbecue or something -- her sunglasses are perched on her head and her only accessory is a slim gold watch. But yet she looks so chic!
I also like this photo so much because I think I look a lot like her in it.
