Friday night escapades

I have to be honest, I went a little nutty at LOFT after work tonight ... but it was that kind of week. And everything in the store was 40% off!

First I checked out the sale section, where I found this cardigan in gray (which is currently sold out on the site, but some may still be left in stores.

Then I checked out their new arrivals (which are now also a part of that 40% off sale as I mentioned earlier) ... and I kept finding more goodies.

This striped ruffle button down in a crisp blue pinstripe is going to be perfect for work ... I plan to rock this with a belt.

When I saw the zipper on the back of this scoopneck sweater, I just loved that detail.

I also scooped up this 3/4 sleeve blouse (available in stores in white, shown below) and I am interested to see what other pieces I can pair it with.

My favorite purchase of the night though was probably this cropped jacket in their awesome scuba material ... I chose it in the gray instead of the camel color like they have online.

Ladies, I have found the perfect pair of black tights. They're soft, comfortable, and yet they stay in place all day. And they're a dense, totally opaque shade of black.

Now, when I say Kate Spade, it probably doesn't sound like a bargain brand to you :) but they really are the perfect tights. Trust me. And the good news is, while they're regularly $28 (for sale here at Zappos), if you head to Century 21, you'll find them for $12!

I recently crossed over to the dark side and purchased my first pair of denim leggings, or jeggings. I saw them in the Factory section of J. Crew (which only opens on the weekends, natch) and thought I would give them a whirl.

They were, after all, on sale with an extra 30 or 40% off. I can't remember, I was in a sale haze.

Now, I'm a curvy girl, so when I saw them, I wondered how on earth I was ever going to get them on :) they looked a little too skinny. But, oh my, the amazing stretch capabilities! They're SO comfortable. I'm planning to wear them to work tomorrow for casual Friday and test them out tucked into boots.

Anyway, when then Factory section of J. Crew opens this weekend, as it does every weekend, I suggest checking them out!

A great work dress

I feel like a dress like this is great for work for several reasons ---

1) this silhouette never goes out of style;

2) it's flattering on everyone;

3) it's one piece that will instantly make you look put together;

4) the gray is classic;

5) the ruffle neckline gives it that extra something special, especially with the raw edge.
