NYC Recessionista’s Favorite Beauty Products

I love beauty products … funny thing is, I am not always a bargain shopper when it comes to this stuff. I love to experiment with different things from time to time and find new favorites. And if I find something that’s really good, I will splurge on it a little.

So, I thought it would be fun to give y’all a glimpse of what’s actually in my medicine cabinet and what’s in my shower — you’ll notice it’s an interesting mix of drugstore and high-end products.

Shower Gel —

I am on my third bottle of this stuff … the smell is intoxicating. I literally want to drink it. But I won’t.

Face Products —

I know this stuff is a little on the expensive side, but I feel like nothing has ever made my skin look or feel better. I have extremely dry skin, and I love that you can search products by skin condition on Kiehl’s web site.

Deodorant —

I have tried several other deodorants, and this one is the only formula that keeps razor burn at bay. It’s great stuff. And the smell is amazing, which is why I bought the matching body spray.

Hair Products —

I tried this on a whim one day (I had been a fan of their Skin Relief moisturizer for the wintertime) and I’m now on my second bottle. Leaves my hair silky and shiny.

With curly hair, you want to make sure your hair won’t frizz the second you walk outside … which is why I use this conditioner. It leaves my hair incredibly soft, without the poof.

I equally love their Spiral Style Curl Defining Spray Gel … hands down makes the perfect spiral curls.

Perfume —

I love all things citrusy … you’ve probably noticed a pattern here already. This perfume is no exception … it has the perfect clean scent. The main notes are lychee and pink grapefruit, so you can understand how.

Toothpaste —

This toothpaste has the greatest clean & minty taste to it … and I love the retro-looking packaging.

Body Products —

Every time I use these two products, I instantly feel like I’m 6 years only, and I’m on line at Lemon Ice King. Simply delicious.
