All snowed in

My fiance and I celebrated our first Valentine’s Day together way back in 2006. It was before I was living within New York City limits, so he surprised me with a weekend at a bed ‘n’ breakfast in NYC. It was seriously the sweetest and most thoughtful gift anyone’s ever given me (next to my engagement ring of course ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, you may not specifically remember Valentine’s Day weekend of 2006, but I am sure you remember the Blizzard of 2006 that dumped 26.9 inches in Central Park that same day. Yeah, we were caught in that.

We were so lucky that some restaurants remained open in the middle of that mess, because we had to trek through the snow to have our Valentine’s Day dinner, which ended up being our favorite pizza… and frankly, that was just fine by us.

Four years later, we’re thankfully NOT snowed in, and we’re planning to have dinner later at one of our new favorite places … where we also got engaged last year.

If your Valentine’s Day doesn’t quite shape up the way you expect it to, just roll with it. You never know what’s in store for you later on.

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
