Gap Body

Some of the smartest purchases I've made over the last few months have been from Gap Body -- that new section you may have seen spring up in your local Gap which houses the underwear, PJs, activewear, and the swimsuits during the summer.

They have some of the best pieces for layering -- the fabrics are incredibly soft and long-lasting (many are cotton blends), they have most neutral colors which make them perfect for mixing and matching, and they take fabrics that would otherwise be considered strictly for loungewear and they are making beautifully structured pieces out of them that work great with other day pieces in your wardrobe.

Case in point --- this French Terry Belted Hoodie, which was on sale for $19.99.

It's so soft that it feels like sweats, yet it's made into this longer, belted silhouette, which could easily be worn as a sleek cardigan over a collared shirt or printed blouse, as in the photo.

Anyway, I highly recommend browsing that section next time you find yourself in the Gap -- you're likely to find incredibly cozy pieces that don't look schlumpy.
